Louisa maintained a fast pace throughout the race to run 11:36.84,clinching the silver medal to make up for last year's 4th positionfinish. Emelyne and Audrey followed closely behind to finish in the4th and 5th positions respectively.
A-Girls 400m Hurdles Final:
Penny Tan (09S79) - 01:14.55 (5th)Lee E-main (08S74) - 01:14.57 (6th)
Penny and E-main bettered their qualifying times to finish in the 5thand 6th positions respectively.
A-Boys 400m Hurdles Final:
Tommy Kee (09S73) - 01:00.81 (7th)
A surge in the first 200m of the race saw Tommy briefly in the lead.Unfortunately, the gamble did not pay off as he eventually finished in 7th position.
A-Girls 200m Final:
Chong Jia Yuan (08S62) - 00:26.19 (2nd)Samantha Raeburn (09A16) - 00:28.31 (6th)
In a close fight, Jia Yuan emerged the silver medallist in the 200mfinal with a timing of 00:26.19, bettering her performance in lastyear's final, where a fall forced her to settle for the bronze medal. Samantha also ran 00:28.31 to finish in the 6th position.

Cui Naisheng (08S6Q) - 00:23.36 (4th)Clement Lin (09A13) - 00:23.90 (7th)
Naisheng overcame a hamstring strain sustained during the 400m finalto run 00:23.36, finishing just outside the medals in 4th position.Despite this being his first year competing in the event, Clementmanaged a top 8 finish.
A-Girls Shot Put Final:
Melissa Sng (08A10) - 9.16m (4th)
Quek Gou Jun (09A15) - DNQ
With only four months of training for a completely new event, Melissa,a judoka, managed an effort of 9.16m to finish in the 4th position.Unfortunately, Gou Jun's three attempts were unmeasured. A squashplayer, this was also her first time competing in the event.
